LHR to LIS last week in economy. Snacks and drinks to buy but not much choice.

What? This is really bad, noticed that they removed the snack from the Economy Extra section on the Website.

With this Tap is worse than most peers from LIS. FR seats are more comfortable than the green seats, last year TP was often delayed, boarded by bus, fare classes are not transparent for earning. With higher prices there is no reason to book TP anymore, sad.

Recently flew Economy Extra on LHR-LIS, and before takeoff the snack box was still mentioned on the website. On board the only option was a the buy-on-board. I had my own snacks so didn't mind, and the Economy Extra seats are comfortable, but shame that they went full lazy now.

It is bad news, but actually not true. IIRC, from LIS, only LH, LX, LG, AF, and KL offer complimentary service onboard in Y in medium-haul flights. The other airlines offer nothing in Y.

Well it is not all about the food. With BOB TP is now on the lowest food level. With the green seats TP is even below FR, U2 and others. Really uncomfortable Economy seats.

The red seats correspond to EW or new FR seating in my opinion but cost extra, so also worse. Probably only Iberia is worse than TP now.

Although I strongly dislike the lack of onboard service, realistically I wouldn't deem the lack of a €1 worth pack of chips – which was what was served as complimentary food in the green chairs pre-COVID – as a game changer...

I dislike it too. But again: I don't see it as a game changer.

Btw, a new BOB menu is now available. The file is too heavy to be posted here, but it includes:

- Pastel de nata €3
- Chocolates/biscuits €2,5
- Assorted savoury bites €2,5
- Instant pasta with arrabiata sauce €3,5
- Coffe/tea/cappuccino €2
- Sodas €3
- Bottled water 50ml €2,5
- Beer €4
- Wine €5,5
- Gin/whisky €6

3€ for a pastel de nata!? I paid less in New Zealand (where it was something like NZ$5 at a bakery).

[QUOTE=Palal;32446907].....
Alcohol prices are super inflated. You can get 3-4 cans of Sagres for 4€ at a restaurant, and a full 70cl bottle of licor de beirão for 10€, but I guess they have to make money somewhere ...../QUOTE]

And why, pray tell run any business? Government pay roll types need not reply - nor socialists (me included).

"On offer" does not mean you have to purchase at the offered price.

Hey, I'm just being Portuguese with my complaints about inflated prices!

If people are willing to pay - awesome! The airline does have a captive audience

If the pastel de nata is similar to what they used to offer as desert - it's actually quite good. Unfortunately, I won't get to try it in the near future

Hi folks first time flying TP J class soon, will be flying LHR-LIS-GRU.

Can anyone give an idea of what's on offer food wise?

Also, i've read on the TP website that there is the facility to pre-book your main choice a few days prior to departure. Does anyone know if this is now back online with all the COVID catering restrictions?

Many thx

This is what I was served in J class on the 13:40 LHR-LIS service today.

Very tasty food, fantastic service from a very friendly Purser.

Compare this to a small cardboard box with plastic cutlery and a sandwich being offered on the alternative national carrier on the same route. Due to COVID reasons of course. Nothing to do with cost.

Can confirm from my LIS-ZRH or OPO-ZRH flights in J that catering is "back to normal", which in case of TP means truly excellent. For instance on my last OPO-ZRH in early January we had the choice of a beef fillet (medium rare, as I like it) or Spinach Tortelloni (vegetarian). Starter was smoked salmon and desert a chocolate and coffee mousse. All very delicious and accompanied by a wine selection (2xred, 1x white, 1x sparkling, liquors, soft drinks, coffee, tea). Service was also outstanding.
