I just checked the updated TCs (V20200803) on 03/AUG/2020
3.4.2. On the expiry date of the status acquired through this Campaign, the Client / New Client will have the opportunity to renew their status until the end of their current Annual Miles Earning Period, on the condition that during the previous 12 (twelve) months they have simultaneously earned at least: (i) 25,000 (twenty-five thousand) Status Miles and 4 (four) TAP Air Portugal flight segments, for Clients with TAP Miles&Go Gold status; or (ii) 10,000 (ten thousand) Status Miles and 2 (two) TAP Air Portugal flight segments, for Clients with TAP Miles&Go Silver status.
This first renewal will be valid for 1 (one) to 12 (twelve) months, depending on the renewal date of the Client’s / New Client’s Annual Miles Earning Period.

Interesting but not in a good way! Was that same clause there when this promo began? Its now a bit more challenging to comply for many of us I guess!

The 2/4 Sectors on TAP metal have been a requirement ever since this iteration of TAP's status match promotion began in early July.
There was an earlier 'Birthday' version for TAP's 75th anniversary which ran in March-April. Contemporary reports on FF blogs (amd indeed post 1 of this very thread) of the time reference the 10K/25K miles for extending status but do not mention any 'own metal' requirement so this appears to be a new thing.

Oh thats great news for me but not so good for newer signees. I signed up for the earlier iteration back in April so appear to be all set!

When do people hear back? I signed up last week and attached my Qatar Platinum, haven't heard anything back yet. Not even a thank you for registering to status match etc. Just get fare emails so far.

I applied for this mid August and got an email back yesterday confirming the status match if i bought 4000 points or a club package. Im guessing it will be a couple more weeks before the match fully goes through.

Well I got the approval email finally yesterday after like over a month.
Today I bought the Basic Club for 99euros as the other option for 4000 miles was more expensive.
But okay, see how long it takes them to approve and put the status match now that I've completed all conditions.

On the 19th of August my account was updated to Gold and this morning I found a TAP Miles&GO Gold luggage tag in my letterbox. Unexpected but most welcome (though I would rather have a physical card). Now I just need to manage to actually get some flights before the status expires!
