A few picture of the OPO lounge so you know what to expect
- some finger food (sandwiches, rissois, bolinhos de bacalhau)
- pastries, crisps, cashew nuts
- 2 nespresso machines and a wide range of soft drinks (coke,ice tea, fruit juices,etc, even cold milk)
- wine and spirits (I’ll take a picture next time so you have more detail)
thee are 2 seating areas (indoor) and the mezzanine “outdoor”, there is a magazine/newspaper stand at the entrance, and a working/office area past the food on the left

Mezzanine “outdoor” seating

Thanks for posting, brings back some memories. Last flew from OPO 2 years ago - and it seems that nothing much has changed. Still just an average lounge (actually I would say slightly on the bad side) since it is quite basic and this lounge (as I know) serves also as the lounge for the long haul pax. I had expected a nicer lounge facility since the airport itself is nice and OPO is quite a famous destination outside of LIS.

Might be dropping by when I pass by OPO end of this year on my way to LIS.

Is there a shower facility at this lounge or the airport itself? Is there a good airport hotel with easy access to the subway?

The lounge is still closed for business (it's owned by the airport authority, rather than TAP). And it doesn't have shower facilities.

There are several hotels within 5-10 minutes walk, but they aren't on the airport estate, just off. So Park Hotel is probably the nearest, just bear in mind you need to turn left out of the terminal building (with the building behind you). You can get there by turning right, it's just the long way around. It's the other side of the light rail station, you will see it once you are a bit past the terminal, just cut through greenery on the footpaths heading in the general direction of the hotel bearing in mind you are heading to the left side of the hotel. That hotel is actually nearer Botica metro station because Botica and the airport stations are close together, so you wouldn't take the metro to Botica from the airport. There are other options in the area but they are all fairly similar 2 star places, clean, modern, but basic.

Thank you for the detailed info. I am planning on staying near the airport and commute into the city for sightseeing and restaurants instead of a hotel in the city.

Well that would work fairly easily, but there are some good and well priced options in the city centre - the hotels around the airport are essentially for people spending one night late/early turns and fairly basic. Porto is a bit hilly so having a hotel close to hand has some value. But the tram system is easy to use and at least gives you options in this area.
