Cheaper Business When Booked as Two One-Ways?

Yesterday I was booking a RT in business ORD-LIS-LHR around Thanksgiving and it priced to $3,047. But when I booked is as two one-way tickets the price dropped to $2,436! Not sure why I checked that but glad I did.

TAP is fairly unique in allowing one-ways to price at 50% of a return. ex-Europe fares are lower...

Yes, I've seen it before myself - but not for such a big different in price.
