TAP upgrade with miles - baggage
What baggage allowances would apply in the case of an upgraded ticket?

Correct... if you are in business - either paid, award, upgrade (cash or miles), you get all the business class perks: baggage, lounge, fast trak, etc.

Sorry for the late response - thanks all for the confirmation.

At the time I had booked the most basic Y fare and upgraded with miles but the online system was asking me to pay to add baggage (the main reason I needed to upgrade on that flight). I presume it was just a glitch in the IT system.
