Normal?? Hey, it's TAP

I checked my reservation after i read your post. And guess what ......

I made new seat reservations, but with no real hope that they'll stick

I think loads are pretty low so far, so hopefully they wont immediate raise fares. I scored somewhat last minute SFO-JFK-LHR F AA awards for my family in late July and decided to use the TAP LON-JFK fare for transit to Portugal and then back to the US. Good for Portugal tourism too, we'd have gone to Corsica or Sardinia otherwise ;-) but hard to pass up the stopover opportunity in Portugal.

Just bought them late last week and at the time there were no seats assigned in J (save the two seats in row 1 which I think are just blocked). Now it looks like a few other folks have joined us. What a great deal, LCY-OPO(stopover)-LIS(stopover)-NYC. To bad they don't allow 3 stopovers, we needed to do 3 days in NY too, otherwise would have booked the LHR-YVR fare (with AC 787 flatbed from EWR-YVR) which was only slightly more expensive. But we really wanted a couple of days in OPO too and it was cheaper to do this way and just slum it in eco with $109 sale tickets from EWR home to the West Coast. Without a doubt we will book DUB-SFO for next summer once those open up for booking on our dates. What a deal... and since we are actually spending lots of time in Portugal, I could care less about delays or poor ground service, really just care about the new plane to JFK. Fingers crossed...

Does anyone have experience using a carseat or CARES harness in business class flying TAP Air Portugal's A330-900neo (on which they use the Recaro CL6710 seats)?

We have an upcoming flight and the website requests notification of CRS use prior to travel. Is this by phone?

The 1-2-1 seat arrangement on this aircraft seems to make complying with TAP's requirements that a car seat must occupy a window seat next to an adult escort complicated - does this really mean across the aisle?

Also, as the seats have airbags, the seatbelt extender would need to be used to disable the airbag. And, it is unclear whether the seat constitutes an "oblique" seat under FAA rules (which would prohibit CRS use) - I cannot find degrees off centerline to determine if it exceeds 18-degrees). Does anyone know?

No footrests in Econ or Econ+ (or whatever they call it).

We flew the extra legroom economy seats on the way out. I really liked them. I had enough room to put my suitcase on the floor between the seats, thus allowing myself a “foot rest”. My wife thought I was crazy, but for me it was great and it helped me sleep.

This will work in the bulkhead seats as well.

In regular economy the emergency exit bulkhead rows will have people queuing for the LAV in front of you.

Hi, I need to get to East Coast to be in BOS for my another flights no later than 19FEB evening and OSL-USA comes pretty cheap as one way - I was wondering if I should book OSL-LIS-BOS with A330 Neo arriving on the 19th in the afternoon (any equipment change possibility?) or rather OSL-LIS-OPO-EWR with A321 Neo which comes with a day in OPO and one more night in the US (not really a big brainer). My main question is whether TAP flyers would go for 321 or 330?

What class of service will you be flying?

As this concerns two aircraft types, I may move this out into its own thread, an A321LR vs Airbus A330-900neo comparo.

How did you like 2H? What was the legroom like? Galley noise? Also, did 1E & 1F seem like decent honeymoon-style seats? Any extra legroom or storage?

1E and 1F have the bassinet seats, you may be bumped out of those seats if there are babies on board. In addition, they are the closest to the galley, so noise and traffic is to be expected.

Same thing here. Bumped from 3A to 3F on an Aeroplan redemption (TP262 YYZ-LIS, in February). Did a dummy booking for this flight and the front is almost empty.

I contacted them on twitter - I'll update what happens!

How do I select seats online after the Plusgrade Upgrade is confirmed?

The itinerary shows business class for the segment with no seats selected. But, when I select "Additional Services" in the reservation on the website, no "Seat" option appears like under my other reservation. Instead only Special Meals, Extra Baggage, and Special Assistance appear.

Sorry if I'm missing something obvious, but, I'm a bit confused. I'd really like to select seats near the rest of our traveling group.

**EDITED TO ADD: Had to call before online check-in opened 24-hr prior to ex-US departures. Also, could select/change seats during OLCI.

Their twitter folk (who have again been lovely to deal with) moved me to 7A, and said:

"Please note that the previous seat change was due to the fact that seat 3A is preferably for passengers traveling with infants (not all seats are able to accommodate passengers with infants)."

My family is currently booked in 3A, 3E, 3F. Is this going to become a problem for us? The phone agent we used to book the seats didnt raise any red flags.
