TAP Airlines: ticket not matching passport?

I have read recently how some airlines are not allowing some people to board because the name on their ticket doesn't match exactly to the passport.

My son and my self are going to Oktoberfest and his passport has his middle name but his ticket doesn't.

I have been told twice from TAP reps that we will be fine. Should I pay for a change ticket or should I trust customer service?

Thanks

Middle names are not required for airline tickets As long as first name and last name are correct, no problem

There are only two field which matter, first name and last name. A non-issue.

Given the confusion that Portuguese names usually make for their owners and airline rez systems (USUALLY 2 first and 2 last names) this is one case where I would definitely NOT worry about it.
