If it's the same PNR, they'll interline bags. If it's not, they won't.

In your case it sounds like they're separate PNRs - so no interline.

I take IT this IS from recent personal experience? If so rather unfortunate to hear.

Yes - they said they won't edit bag tags or do anything extra in the system. This was the star gold check-in desk in LIS.

I wouldn't expect contract workers at JFK to do anything different.

My full story is that I was flying (TP)LIS-LHR-(AC)-YYZ-... and checked in online on TP's site, but it only checked me in for the first segment. When I got to the check-in desk, the system spit out a bag tag only to LHR. I ended up talking to them for a while when they told me what I wrote above, and then asked them to cancel the check-in and re-check me in. Things worked flawlessly the second time around.

I dont care about protection and I am well aware of protection rules. At east they'll tag the bag to the final destination.

That they did it, once, on a TP-TP separate ticket combination doesn't mean they will do it on a TP-SK combination as the OP proposes. Particularly from an outstation where it most likely will only be contract/agency staff doing check-in!

I guess you are right all depends on the agents. I usually get all these done like cross referencing the PNRS's etc. So tat on day of travel they can see your segments in their system. I have also been reaching out to them on twitter.

Protection doesn't matter. What matters is that the computer spat out a single bag tag that they didn't have to manually edit.
