Are they still flying this bloody old business product on their a330-200 ? I thought they retrofited them?

Nope they still have 4 A343 and 6 A332 with the old slippery slope seats installed flying around. They are supposed to leave the fleet when all the A339 and A359 arrive.

TP converted the A350 to A339, so no A350.

very much on topic the A340 last flights to Africa (and I believe from the network) are scheduled now only until year end.
per airline route

TAP Air Portugal in late-May 2019 moved accelerated planned Airbus A330-900neo service to Africa, previously scheduled from late-March 2020. Latest adjustment to planned A330-900neo Africa service as follows.

Lisbon – Luandaeff 20DEC19 7 weekly
Lisbon – Maputoeff 31DEC19 3 weekly

Planned last A340-300 scheduled service remains unchanged on 31DEC19, Luanda to Lisbon.

It still baffles me how they keep expanding their network to the limit (example MIA above) and not retiring aircraft that are clearly past their prime.

Not sure if this is the appropriate thread for this, but....
Does anyone know if the LIS-ORD route is supposed to be operated by A339 permanently? I just booked tickets ORD-LIS for November and was surprised/disappointed to see a A332 seat map...

I booked mine about 2mos ago, flying next Fri. When I booked it was old 2-2-2, then about a week later it showed A339 (yay!) and then I log in the other day and showing A332 but luckily one of the newer 1-2-1 with throne. So seems like no consistency here

At the end of the day it’s a daytime flight and I wouldn’t be losing any sleep, but it sure does seem like the New York market gets priority for flatbeds of one shape or another. Any insight to the contrary?

From OPO, as the operating aircraft is the A321LR, it's always flatbeds; from LIS, both EWR and JFK usually get flatbeds too, either with the A339s or the retrofitted A332s.

The route will likely switch between the retrofitted A332s and the A339 according to loads (similar to what happens in medium-haul with A319s-A321s).

Even though the inauguration was just last weekend, on FlightAware this route is already being alternated between 332 and 339. Looks like 50/50 but no pattern...
