Looks like this route is still serviced by the old A330-200? Anyone know the possibility of a neo on this route?

Also- TAP has ebid upgrades, but it seems the reward tickets are not available for bidding?
Thanks.
Operation only starts as of 1Jun, so I'd say a one-off flight is highly unlikely.
ebid are AFAIK only for paid tickets, so only chance is an upgrade at check-in if that.

Airline route on A340 operation
TAP Air Portugal in recent schedule update filed Airbus A340-300 schedule until late-December 2019. For Northern winter 2019/20 season, planned A340-300 operation as follows.

Lisbon – Luanda 27OCT19 – 30DEC19 1 daily
Lisbon – Maputo 27OCT19 – 29DEC19 3 weekly
Lisbon – Rio de Janeiro 28OCT19 – 30DEC19 6 weekly

Effective date listed above is based on Lisbon departure. Tentative scheduled last A340 service is from Luanda on 31DEC19, this remains subject to change.
Probably running until there are enough A339

TAP started TLV yesterday. on their
some pics of the celebration (pity they are not showing the C seating.
It seems it was CS-TJN Operating (2 days in a row - let's see if that is kept). Anyone knows if all Neos have the same config.

Did they release any data on load factors for these first days?

321LR has real J, 321neo has eurobiz. This route would be a prime candidate for LR flights.

I didn't remember they only had Neo's and not the LR. I just saw they got the first LR last week
Actually on the Airbus press release of the 1st LR delivery last week it's mentioned it will be doing the TLV run
https://www.airbus.com/newsroom/pres...st-a321lr.html
"TAP’s A321LR will be operated on the Lisbon-Tel Aviv route at its entry into service."

Also from the pic in the press release just saw there is no second door before the wings but an overwing emergency exit. have to research this.

Operational aircraft changes may happen with any airline. The other day TP had issues with one of their A340s that triggered an emergency landing at LIS. I have not been following the aftermath but this may have forced them to change short-term aircraft assignments for their long-haul routes.

I was literally about the pull the trigger on a J booking YYZ-LIS-TLV when all of a sudden the seatmap for the first segment YYZ-LIS changed to the OLD A330-200 layout. BARF. These aren't even fully lie flat seats. Interestingly the other flights all appear to have the new configs loaded in the seat maps. I'm now worried about booking this and finding that the long haul segments both end up on old equipment. Anyone flown that YYZ-LIS route recently???

I’m looking at flying one of the well priced exEU business class fares home with my family at the end of a vacation this summer. It looks like NYC is a good bet for our US connection as by early August both ewr and jfk flights from Lisbon are scheduled as 339s and OPO-EWR is a 321neo LR. At the end of the day it’s a daytime flight and I wouldn’t be losing any sleep, but it sure does seem like the New York market gets priority for flatbeds of one shape or another. Any insight to the contrary?
