It cannot. Because the TB does not sanction anything ever. It just makes recommendations. :p
I think there's a big difference between making suggestions regarding the overall organization of the board vs. choosing what threads are extraordinary. It takes a herculean effort just to decide that, for example, Virgin America deserves its own forum. How in the world could a 9-person committee be expected to reach consensus to recommend individual threads in each forum out of the thousands and thousands of threads out there? I can't think of a way. But if you have a specific suggestion, I, at least, am all ears! |

My vision wasn't so much that this would generate debate about particular threads, but rather T B members would create something of a laundry list of good ones.
Seriously though, achieving consensus on a single thread much less consistency across the universe of threads would be virtually impossible. When you first suggested this, I thought about maybe some standards or guidelines for identifying 'threads of excellence' but even there I can't come up with any rational objective measure. So. I understand your goal but I can see no way to achieve it. |
Oh well.
Back to the slumber, TB. :D |
And back to the OP trying to think up something else in TB or ORP :D
PS - I do read Talkmail & do think it fills the need the OP thinks needs filling. Cheers. |
