Voting yes: gleff, kokonutz, Punki

Voting no: bhatnasx, Cholula, Jenbel, lucky9876coins, Spiff, techgirl

My goodness what a surprise result. :D

Question on policy .. hasn't previous policy been to start a NEW thread announcing vote results, rather than bury it at post 700 or whatever in the initial discussion thread? Maybe I am mistaken in that.

(That is, in addition to being announced in the "Vote Results" forum, where all vote results have appeard for a couple of years alllowing no member input.)

Not necessarily.

Maybe you missed it. They could just update the thread title, like they did with the recent Travel Products Forum discussion thread?

I know it hasn't happened to this thread yet. Maybe it's still too early in the morning. Just wait till everybody gets their morning coffee. :p:D

Gang,

This thread is for discussion of the motion that just failed.

It is not for other motions or questions that are off topic from the motion.

There are other threads available for that.

Shame on those who voted for it, thanks to those who voted against it.

See ClueByFour, it cuts both ways... or do you have some special power that allows you to be the authority on such statements?

EDIT: haha! magiciansampras must have submitted that as I was typing :D

You are welcome. :)

kokonutz Feb 29, 2008 12:14 pm

lol. Folks, people of goodwill can repectfully disagree. No need to be casting shame about!

Besides, if I'm going to be shamed for something it ought to be something good (as in BAD)! :)

Seriously dude. Shame on you!!! LOL. IJAFIBB, folks. ;)

IMHO, no one has the right to attempt to, nor in reality can they, shame anyone who votes their conscience. Attempts to do so reflect poorly only on those who attempts to dispense shame, not on those they attempt to shame.

It is obvious from the number of, and intensity of, the responses to Randy's action and the subsequent motion, that this is a subject which folks care about very deeply. It is even more obvious from the intensity of, and number of, responses since the conclusion of the vote, that neither Randy's action nor the motion have achieved final resolution for many folks.

Personally, I think it would all have gone down better with everyone if Randy had worked with TalkBoard to develop a more widely acceptable solution to the gaming issue, but, hey, it is his sandbox and he can play in it in the fashion that best pleases him.

Agreed. ^ (Except that it is IBB's sandbox, but that's a minor point. :))

Shame?

Pathetic. :td:

I respect every vote made in this motion. I'm happy to see all nine members took the time to vote their conscience.

Back to my AKL vacation. Of course, last night wasn't the most fun I had in a while:

http://flyertalk.com/forum/showpost....&postcount=112

Have fun with the dénouement.

I'd like to offer a very loud "thank you" to bhatnasx, Cholula, Jenbel, lucky9876coins, Spiff & techgirl!

Based on Randy's comments indicating that this subject is closed as far as he is concerned, I am going to close this thread as well.

The vote has been taken and we need to move on.

If you wish to extends thanks or other comments to members of the TB, I do believe they all can receive private messages.

Thanks,

William
