Coupon Connection feedback system

With the growth of FT and a rise in popularity of Coupon Connection, I would really like a way to read and provide feedback about CC trades (both mine and others).

I was very disheartened to see the recent post about LAtoLondon, but what makes it worse is that the same person could continue to act badly fairly easily. On the flip side, there are people who have traded honestly and deserve to get the benefit of their upstanding behavior.

Thoughts? Any reason why this couldn't be done?

Without commenting on the substance of your question per se, let me simply note that Coupon Connection is one of three forums -- the other two being Only Randy Petersen and OMNI -- in which Randy himself has set certain distinctive rules that are different from or over-and-above those of the other forums that the TalkBoard has purview of.

So this one might be best addressed by Randy, as he is the one who has worked over the years with the Coupon Connection moderators to set up and tweak as needed the distinctive rules that apply in that forum.

ETA: Some history -- and a quote of Randy's perspective on the operation of Coupon Connection -- can be found here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showp...0&postcount=15

As you may recall from the past, as well, there was a feedback system (not for CC, but for FlyerTalk as a whole) and this was abused. I wouldn't mind a feedback system for Coupon Connection, but I'm not sure that the forum software allows for such an system for a specific forum. If it did, I would completely support it, but if it doesn't & feedback would be applicable for all forums, then I don't think it's something that needs to be on FlyerTalk again...

Just to be clear, I am not proposing feedback for all forums or posts. Just for Coupon Connection, where people are exchanging real items with potentially large real value.

I realize that the vast majority of CC trades go well. But it seems wrong that an unscrupulous person could take advantage of this community so easily and with no apparent negative consequences.

Here's an idea... why not have a sticky where people could simply post things like "KSinNYC said her trade with Bhatnasx was good, PM if you want more details." The goal is to have a quick, easily findable list of trades that went well.

I would completely support something like that - but you wouldn't need TalkBoard support for something like that, IMHO - if the CC mods were cool with a thread such as that (and as a former mod, I'm not why there'd be any issues, but it's not my forum & I know that forum has its own dynamics), then that should be fine for that forum...

How about something similar to ebay's feedback system - I don't know if it is possible, but then we are creating a database for airlines to refer to as well...if all trades are shown!

It should also be noted that the Coupon Connection moderators have set up a process to "out" bad trades. When utilized, it appears to work with no problems. And, there are consequences for a bad trader. While the Coupon Connection moderators do not publicly discuss the actions that are taken, believe me, we do take action and look out for our members.

I personally believe that 99.99%+ of all CC trades happen without a glitch... and our community is quick to take care of each other. Not sure we need another system in place to do this.

Besides, Flyertalk has experience with such a system in the past... and people loved to abuse it. In addition, many people may not want to be public in the fact that they trade at all.
