How about "city hosts" sticky?

Hello. I know there is a section where people can post their travel itineraries to meet up with other FTers on the road (or airline lounge). I just got back from a RTW work trip. My schedule was too uncertain and hectic to coordinate anything in advance, but it would have been very nice to randomly connect with an FTer who lived in one of the places I went to. I live in San Francisco and would certainly be happy to spontaneously meet a visitor to here.

I know that DOs and other get-togethers are posted in Community and that people give local advice in the geography section all the time. This would be something different -- a non-time sensitive, non-date specific list of people who live in an area who are open to just casually meeting people who happen to be in their city. Maybe it could be a sticky at the top of each city thread?

What say you? :)

There are a couple of threads in Community that are either based on home airport... or Google map... that shows where members are located.

That could possibly help... and it is broader than just the few cities Flyertalk chooses to highlight.

Here are the links to the threads wharvey refers to.

Very nice. Apparently I even signed up for this. :)

Does that mean that everybody on the list has explicitly or implicitly consented to getting random "hi I'm in town" emails? ;)
