Town Hall - updates please?

Can we have some updates to the Town Hall, please?

Specific questions:

1) Are there now to be only nine members of TB? Formerly there were always 10. I'd read or heard somewhere that 9 members meant less chance of a tie vote, but that's specious reasoning because motions require a two-thirds majority to pass. (There's a small difference between requiring 7 of 10 votes to pass vs 6 of 9.)

2) Who are the president and vice-president of TB? Since it's been more than one year since their election, isn't it time for a new vote given that TB chose a one-year term for these TB officials?

Looking forward to the responses,

FewMiles..

Excellent question.

I was under the impression that Chexfan was the Vice President. With the current president just having finished his 1 year term I suspect they will be having another set of elections pretty soon. Plenty of good new candidates to pick for the role of president IMHO.

Agree 100%. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

But Cigarman has declared himself on these boards many times before as 'President for Life'. How do they get around that? Sending in the Marines works for the US. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

LexPassenger Sep 12, 2003 9:29 pm

Marines are currently over-extended.

Perhaps we could get the Supreme Court to review the election results? They might be able to "correct" the results in some fashion acceptable to Rupert Murdoch.

I supported you as TB member and I'd sure as heck support you as President if I had the choice. Diplomacy isn't something we all have in us.

You guys! I back Missy for president! She has proved herself worthy of running organizations by her effectiveness in several years of SEA-DOs.

Based on precedent isn't that the PRIMARY requirement for a TB President. ;

Any updates here?

If the Town Hall section of the website cannot be updated for whatever reason, can we at least have someone from the TB acknowledge that these issues have been picked up and are being discussed?

Thanks,
FewMiles..
