Camera Guy, apart from this motion you reference being over 11 months old now, it just occurred to me 4 of the 7 that voted 4 for the motion soon after resigned from Talkboard, so it can hardly be claimed to represent the will/opinion of the current Board?

Even so, I read the motion to clearly allow the "collective wisdom" of the current TB to authorize one or more of their number to comment if asked public questions. That is not rocket science. They appear to have clearly chosen not to do so. Hence this thread.

It follows inexorably that this total and complete non-disclosure is the prevailing 'collective wisdom' of Talk Board and they are entirely comfortable with it. Shame really.

Could it be that the TB, which is a USER ADVISORY BOARD to Randy, thinks that there is NOTHING wrong with FT, thus they are not currently dicussing anything?

As far as I am concerned, the TB answers to ONE person. Randy.

The TB is an Advisory Board, it makes suggestions, not policy. Randy makes policy.

If anyone here is unhappy with FT, TB or the Town Hall, I would suggest they contact Randy.

My initial post here was in no way intended to start an unfriendly discussion here.

Most posters here (and not only in this Forum) know (what posting on FlyerTalk concerns and like or dislike) each other and 'know' more or less the 'FlyerTalk'-'Talk-board-business' for quite some time now.

Most arguments that I read (under this topic and forum) here about this TalkBoard-issue (be it Pro or Contra anything), for me read (between the lines) much more as Pro/Contra arguments (like/dislike) of individual members than really dealing with the issue at hand.

That's what I conclude by being an oldie here and my reading/interpretation is probably (wrongly?) more between the lines than what is actually outspoken.

I am not really surprised, but a little bit saddened, that not even here (this forum/this topic) we (both 'sides') cannot discuss this in friendlyness and openess.

Please! please?

Yet playing off the Fire Dept analogy put forth earlier, by our esteemed representative Dan, should we not each, as members of the supposed "community," be concerned that we are all receiving the correct information from the "horses mouth," rather than alternatively being subject to widespread rumor(s) and innuenedo? Shouldn't we ask if our reps are doing their "jobs"? As Rudi had noted, if there is no reason for the section, it can simply be removed. Most here seemingly do not dispute the TB per se, but rather the issue(s) of communication (or lack thereof) and the Town Hall are the topics here as I see it, no?

Curiously, why is it that you continue to give folks such fine advice about contacting Randy, rather than posting complaints and such, yet you do not appear to follow this advice yourself?

FWIW, I believe, and quite strongly so, that Randy does now, as he always has, solicit feedback from the users/contributors!
