Motion Passed: Creation of a Premium Fare Deals subforum

Moved by kokonutz and seconded by jason8612:

"The TalkBoard recommends to the Community Director the creation of a subforum called 'Premium Fare Deals' in the Mileage Run Deals forum."

Forum description:

"Discuss specific premium fare code 'good deals' including fare deals that book into premium economy, business and first class cabins. Once any fare expires, the title should be changed to note '[fare expired]'."

This vote will close on October 31, 2014, at 3:59 pm or after all TalkBoard members have registered their vote, whichever comes first.

Per the TalkBoard Guidelines:

A motion shall pass if at least two-thirds of the yes or no votes cast by TalkBoard members are ‘yes’ and a majority of the total TalkBoard membership votes 'yes.'

The purpose of posting voting topics in the public TalkBoard Topics forum is to solicit member feedback on any motions that are up for a vote and to allow for comments after a vote is made. It is at the sole discretion of the individual TalkBoard members whether they choose to post in the public discussion thread, there being no requirement to do so.

So while there are already threads and discussion on this general topic and it is safe to assume that TalkBoard members have reviewed them, this thread is about this specific motion.

Please feel free to post questions, comments or any other sort of feedback in this thread, or in the other discussion thread.

Yes please!

Fantastic idea - I only go to the Mileage Run forum to look for premium fares. I am not looking for Mileage Runs - it doesn't make sense. There are a lot of topics, a lot of fares, and a lot of discussions all in one thread. A new forum would be so beneficial.

Sounds fair and reasonable and I suspect it will get a lot of page views. I'll sure be looking at that sub forum.

I do not like the way the system software handles sub-forum posts, but this is a good way to measure viability. It's straightforward to convert to a separate forum later if desired.

I applaud our TalkBoard for passing this motion. The creation of a forum that better enables members to find legitimate premium class fares is IMHO very much welcomed.

Thank you for facilitating discussion around premium deals. I love to fly but no longer fly for work due to a job change many years ago. I'm not at the expert level of so many in this forum who graciously share their knowledge, and I value reading everyone's posts. Looking forward to participating in the new format.

Thanks so much to the TalkBoard for taking time to listen to our feedback on this.

The new subforum has been a hive of activity since it was created!
