I'm just stating one of the obvious choices of who I've voted for in a tongue-in-cheek fashion, I think it's safe to say that every candidate who themselves have voted has received at least one vote!

I also don't want to discredit any of the candidates and will point out that I did use all four of my votes. But I apologize if my comments are considered to be campaigning and will accept the consequences if so.

Can other posters (not candidates) endorse candidates in their signatures?

I can think of one person that did that last year, there may have been more.

Thanks for the info.

Would be interesting to get some kind of "official" confirmation from SanDiego1K one way or another.

I have no problem with folks encouraging others to vote in their signature, whether it be by handle or more generally. It's been done most years that I remember, and I am unaware of any rule change that would change the situation.

Thank you for the clarification! ^

Whats the reason it takes upto 5 days to publish voting results, when these numbers pretty much are visible for admin immediately at closing of votes?

Voting ends at midnight LA time on Nov 21st. Nov 22-25th is a 4-day bank holiday (for most) in the US (Thanksgiving weekend) & offices are closed. While FT has a # of int'l members, IB is a US-based company & my guess is their offices will be closed (other than for technical emergencies) for the 4-day holiday. Hence posting of results on Monday the 26th. I don't know for certain, but I think it's a pretty good guess.

Us Yanks don't get as many bank holidays as the rest of world. Don't begrudge us one of our few good/long ones! :)

Cheers. Sharon

^ Thx for the info. Should have let the elections run a bit longer then.

Sorry for the ignorant question - I believe it was in the original announcement of the elections, but I cannot find it.

Which of the current TalkBoard members' terms are running out and which ones have another year until their term runs out?

Also, is any current TalkBoard member affected this time by the term limits which were introduced?

Thanks for some info.

Elections ran over American Thanksgiving last year. Almost no votes came in during the final days, despite effort on my part to push the vote. Also, I try to have the elections when I am widely available, whether it is to pose questions in the Talkboard Debate forum or to respond to email and PM queries. There is a lot of back room minutiae that I oversee. My availability ends Thanksgiving eve with a massive influx of out of town family. I want to seat the new board before personal time obligations at the end of the month keep me from the responsiveness I've given the elections thru to the vote closing.

Those with expiring terms: cholula, skiadcock, Spiff, and bhatnasx.

Those who have been term limited out: Spiff and bhatnasx (or not given Skiadcock's response above).

The updated rules allow anyone to run again for Talkboard after one year off.

My bad. Brainstorming as always. What you say makes fully sense^

Those who were elected last year were: goalie, kokonutz, nsx, jackal, RichMSN. They have another year before their terms expire.

Spiff and bhatnasx both were not able to run this year, due to the term limits.

I believe both nsx and jackal will term out when their current terms expire as well.

Good to hear .. IIRC this has always been allowed.

The only bribes I got offered to push anyone was a Southwest Drink coupon, and a 10% off 7 day Hertz Rental, so I will just keep on on bagging United. :)

The number of "I voted" avatars I'm seeing in the forums is relatively high in relation to thread views for the question/answers. Perhaps it's simply because the candidate statements are sufficient for most people. Are the page views for candidate statements counted anywhere? If they are, how do they compare to the number of votes received and the page views for the questions forum?

N.B. I read all of the answers in the questions forum, but the only affect it had on my voting was to decide to vote for 4 candidates instead of 3.
