Not sure if this is the correct place to put this...

Can we do something about the myriad first-time posters cropping up and asking people to fill out a survey for their graduate degree?

I hate to present a problem without a proposed solution, but I don't have one. Perhaps a survey forum?

You can address this problem with a six-letter word: I G N O R E.

There's no rule that says you have to respond.

I'd guess the concern is that they clog up the first page of forums, detracting from the normal "business' of the forum.

I very much think that's an overkill.

I would think a Newbies Forum would have more merits than a Survey Forum on FT.

I tend to ignore. They tend to fall quite quickly off the front page. Surveys done by better known FTers tend to do better. And that seems fair!

I only do surveys from participating FT members.
