First of all, it doesn't happen in the three lounge threads I frequent. It doesn't. Period.

Secondly, we have a rule within the FlyerTalk Guidelines that addresses this: http://www.flyertalk.com/help/rules.php#q92 The moderators are pretty good at spotting those who are abusing this rule versus making an honest, friendly greeting (which will, at most, add a few hundred posts per year).

Not once have I seen it be an issue since this rule was passed. I'm hard-pressed to believe it will be an issue in the foreseeable future.

No, it is not just you. I also would not care in the least if my post count were to be removed.

Of course, that may be because you and I are getting too old to be able to enjoy our post counts anymore.

A clear double standard.

FWIW, here's the existing TB discussion thread about counting (or not) lounge threads:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/talkb...ost-count.html

May we please stay on topic here? This (passed) motion thread is about not counting posts in OMNI/Games Forum. For those who want to further discuss posts in the lounge threads, would you please resume the discussion in the above referenced thread? Thank you!

My post count was hit probably as hard as anyones (if not more than most all) when this motion was passed.

I didn't play the games before to increase post count and it didn't really bother me that my post count went down about about 10K.

Of course I do realize that since I'm no longer an FT Evangelist my posts don't carry the same weight they used to, but I've learned to live with that.

Shouldn't this thread be closed? The issue was resolved and if someone wants it changed, I think a new thread is in order.

It was started as a separate thread and merged into this one. See post #280 in this thread.

In the eyes of experienced members, post counts above 10k are a mark of lower information value per post.

Oh, I just checked my own post count... Never mind!

Why a new thread? This is the issue that seems to *never* be settled.

That said, I like the status quo and am unlikely to consider changing things up yet again.

Anyone with over 10,000 posts is clearly in severe need of a life.

(Yup, I did check my own post count and it confirms what I said.)

Then someone with 43,817 posts must surely be dead four times over.

It would be my great pleasure. I can even give you the names of her favorite restaurants and let you know what kind of music and flowers she prefers.

(The UIG will be in Israel from late November through early January.)

You're not bringing her as your date to the http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/commu...-december.html?
