First, my apologies for not posting sooner. I have been travelling in Singapore, Brussels and London (here now) and have had almost no free time to check in other than to perform moderation duties.

What have I done lately for Flyertalk? A few things come to mind:

1. For the third year in a row, I have taken on the role of Secret Santa Coordinator. There is still time to sign up: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=603686

2. I continue to be an active member of the Talkboard. I have only missed one vote in all my time on the board (and that was accidental).

3. I am an active volunteer on Randy's moderator team.

I endeaver to create a better experience for every member who is on Flyertalk... not just senior members.

I want everyone to want to come back to Flyertalk day-after-day like I do.

William

First off, I’ll never be able to “do” for FlyerTalk what FlyerTalk has already done for me – helped me earn several consecutive years worth of top tier elite status, introduced me to many dear friends (and even a couple of now-colleagues), and spurred me on to visit many places I never have considered before I was introduced to the style of kamikaze travel that many on FT embrace.

That said I try to give back to the FT community whenever I can. I’ve served as a volunteer moderator on Talk Team in the FT Community, Women Travelers, and American AAdvantage forums. I enjoy helping the flow of discussion in these forums and helping internally within the moderator corp as well.

With the help of a couple other like minded DFW locals, I helped start the Monthly DFW Gathering thread. While we hosted over a dozen events before the start of that thread, since its inception we have had an event here locally every single month and brought a few new FTers into the fold – as well I hosted a larger DO in Fort Worth in April and had the pleasure of introducing several FTers to my hometown. I’ve also hosted or co-hosted several FT events in various other cities including hosting or co-hosting four AAsia Dos.

Finally, I’ve taken advantage of many other opportunities on FT including the “Hire a FTer” program – I currently have one FTer working for me (someone I did not know before FT) and have contracted services with several others.

I have been a member for several years and have used FlyerTalk to find out information for myself and others. I get the word out when I can that this is the place to come if you want to find out what is going on with all that is travel. And, I have become a candidate for the TalkBoard to help FlyerTalk continue to be an asset to travelers, frequent, and in-frequent.
