New way to manage Swiss bookings

Seems like Swiss upgraded their booking facility - according to today's newsletter Swiss Business Savers may be booked through this site for existing reservations:

https://booking.swiss.com/web/manager.htm?page=MANAGER

I can access all my current bookings through this site ^

It would be useful to be able to add bookings not made at swiss.com.

I can do this for BA, so it's not an unreasonable request.

LH.com also allows you to view any Amadeus booking holding an LH segment, regardless of where it was booked. So yes, roger's wish is not unreasonable at all.

Definitely not unreasonable. You can't even add a booking to your Swiss account if you booked the flight via swiss.ch but without logging into your profile. Great IT

What is the purpose of the function?

OK I can access all bookings for which have a Swiss Confirmation Code or e-ticket number. But I can only retrieve the information I need to access the information I have.
(Exception: I can find out the e-tix number with the booking code and vice versa) But that's it. I can not rebook, not upgrade, not event cancel a reservation...

This is pretty useless in my opinion.

Agreed. Can't change seats, add FF number, nothing.. It's utterly useless.

Found out what this is about

More by accident I finally found out what this is four.
If you are on a flight where you wan buy a potential business upgrade in Europe, you can do it with that functionality. This is however only shown if you are on flight which is eligible for the upgrade.

This functionality seems to be targeted at travel agents - it would seem that the manual process on the normal booking systems was pretty complicated.

More info can be found here:

So this means that the new interface should also accept bookings that have not been made through swiss.com . I suppose these are then identified by ticket number (as a non-LX PNR code would likely not work).

I can see my LX PNR for a booking made elsewhere. I just can't do anything with it except see the flight details and the message 'Why can't I upgrade?' (or similar).

It would be useful I could OLCI but I'm sure that won't be possible.

It is of course possible through the separate web check-in interface as long as you have a ticket number, even if it's not booked on swiss.com or even on LX ticket stock. But I agree that it would be smart to link the two interfaces.

Thanks, airoli. I'm learning something every day. I didn't realise this before and will try using the ticket number next time.

You need one of the three :Ticket number or frequent flyer number or credit card number - the ticket number alwys works the two others only sometimes.

The only thing that does NOT work is the booking code...
