I have found the following on the SWISS M&M Homepage:

Convert “Superpunkte” to Miles & More award miles
7,500 Superpunkte = 5,000 miles, order no. 809674
10,000 Superpunkte = 6,666 miles, order no. 809675

The promo will start on August 7th and run until October 28th.

Seems identical to this years 1.5:1 promo before Easter...

That date fits very neatly with the end of the Travel Trophy Promotion.

I'll have to check what Superpunkte are currently selling for on ricardo.ch...

I have to visit a Coop finally, I still haven't set a PIN, so I have no clue how many points I've got, well definitely not enough for taking part in the offer, have to wait for the next one. I'm collecting points for quite while now, but mostly at the gas station, I have to admit that I also do it like Rudi and ask others at the cashier if the will let me put "their" points in my account. I feel kind of cheap doing this, but hey it's for free flights...

BTW: Supercard holders get 3 Rp. off per liter when refueling at a Coop gas station. Offer runs till September, after that you can return to printing out the 3 Rp. off vouchers on the Coop-Mineralöl homepage.

4. And whenever I go to Neuchatel, I can save another 10 Rp. per liter. Oh yes, there are huge price differences in Switzerland.

All in all it looks like Coop is having a lot of fun with those miles and they manage to keep their own bonus program in the news. After the Easter Promo they started the Travel Trophy and with the Trophy still running, they start a new Promo.

It's only barely still running - the last day that Märkli are supposed to be handed out is August 4th (tomorrow!), and full cards must be handed in by August 18th (two weeks from tomorrow).

But I agree. Lufthansa/M&M must be exstatic about all the money Coop is throwing their way to buy all these miles...

Who has the inside knowledge if we should wait until the autumn for the usual 1:1 promotion? Or is the bet that it won't be returning this year?

Rumour has it that LH was not at all amused at the number of miles that ended up in resellers' accounts during last year's promo.

Some of them were signing up new throw-away accounts, often under fake names, loading 140K miles from Coop Superpoints onto them and then selling award tickets procured from those miles for cash.

Shortly after the last 1:1 promotion ended, the were rumblings that it would never come back because of all this abuse.

You would have to buy Superpoints at a max. of CHF 1.30 per 100 points and then convert them 7500:5000 into miles, adding 1000 bonus points through the SuperChance game for each purchase - and you would still be paying the same as with the Travel Trophy (buying a full card at CHF 1.20 and paying CHF 32.90 for 2'000 miles).

Only you won't find Superpoints anywhere near that price on Ebay / Ricardo, so if you are planning to buy miles, stick to the Travel Trophy while it's still running.

nevertheless this superpoint 1,5:1 has also some advantages:

* in one step large quantities
* can be transferred online
* to any miles&more account worldwide
* ... and the promotion still runs when the travel card one expires ...
(the 5 rebate codes per game from the Superchance, if not playing the game yourself, can also be bought on Ricardo)

Coop is learning from its partnership with Miles&More:
COOP "enhanced" the number of allowed rebate codes from 5 to 3. The best available Superpunkte:Miles conversion rate is now 1.38:1 instead of the former 1.3:1...
