Given that there is next to nothing open in D (and the lounge remains closed), it's generally worth the trek to the other piers if you will still have a meaningful amount of time at the end.
I found that transit security into D was quite deserted, perhaps because of the small number of flights leaving from it, so you can probably afford to leave the lounge a little later than usual.

Hello! I've got a flight flying LHR-ZRH-BEG coming up soon.
Assuming both the Heathrow and Belgrade flight arrives and departs at Gates D, is it possible to visit the lounges at E? or travel freely between Gates D and E, vis-a-vis? I'm a Star Gold with SAS, and my nationality does not permit entry into the Schengen zone w/o a visa.
Many thanks!

Since you are in the Schengen zone, you will have access to the Business Lounge A, and the Alpine Lounge. I would recommend the Alpine Lounge, but since you have 5 hours, why not check both of them out.

I’m flying SIN-Zurich-ORD soon. I land around 6am and flight leaves at 9:45am. Looks like the flight will be from E so I’ll just have to clear security and customs to use the E lounge? Any other lounges worth my time?

Doesn’t SIN-ZRH arrive at Terminal E? If so, I’m not sure that you would have to go through security and customs. The answer to your last question is, No.

If you're allowed to enter Schengen, you might want to get landside first, for the better breakfast option and the easier shower availability in the Arrival lounge, and then head back to E.
The Arrival lounge just re-opened after more than 2 years, and I prefered the breakfast there quite a bit over the offerings in the other lounges. Assuming it's still the same.
Since you've enough time, why not also try to Alpine lounge (Schengen, Gate A)
I'd do as following: (if you're allowed into Schengen, it is!)
-> Head landside, use Arrival lounge for shower and breakfast - especially the meats/sausages. And some of their sweets/cakes. (I didn't found their egg dishes to be good, but that might have changed..)
-> Head airside (security), visit the Alpine lounge. Try some snack there.
-> Head towards E gates (Non-Schengen, passport control) and wait in the lounge there. Try their egg dishes, if you still have some space.

wjbesh,
FCL E is open now. Although if you would like to have a smoke before your flight, you better stay in FCL A, as there is no smoking/cigar lounge in E FCL.
The only place to smoke is outside the FCL near the gate 22 I believe. But the whiskey bar is open and you can ask FCL staff to escort you there if you wish. There are still some nice brands in FCL.

Assuming you're either FTL/SEN/HON or flying C: (if F, just go to the FCL E)

If originating ZRH on a Schengen flight, can I go to the FCL in E? I guess the question should be asked: will immigration officers raise an eyebrow when I try to exit Schengen on the way to the lounge with a Schengen BP (and non-CH/EU passport), and will the lounge dragons at the FCL in E admit me? I'd be connecting onwards to a same-day LH F flight.

In this particular situation,
Pros of the Arrival Lounge are:
it’s quieter.
Shower availability.
Food minimally better, however, fewer choices.
Cons of the Arrivals Lounge:
the trek between terminals
the men’s room is small, two urinals, one toilet. It gets crowded with more than 2 people.
Pros of the E Senator Lounge:
no trekking between terminals. You’re already there.
nicer, larger quiet zone.
Outdoor terrace where you can watch the planes take off and land. You can even bring your breakfast out there and sit at one of the tables. They even have some binoculars attached to the railing if you want to get a closer look at the planes.
Nicer seating options. They even have some work cubicles.
Bathrooms are much nicer.
Showers.
Food is decent. I’ve always been able to have enough before I get on the plane.
The Whiskey Bar.
Cons of the E Senator Lounge: (not many)
Probably more people, but probably not during the time that Cthunder86 is there. Although, I have never seen it overflowing with people.
Fewer showers, but I haven’t had it be a problem getting one.
Cthunder86, if you want to go to the Arrivals Lounge, you’ll have to take the train towards baggage claim, go through passport control and then a less than 5 minute walk to the Arrivals Lounge. When you want to return, you’ll have to go through security, then passport control again and the train to E. I’d probably skip the Aspire Lounge. When I get off a long flight, my preference is get somewhere to relax before my next flight. Other people make other choices and that’s O.K. Enjoy your time at ZRH.
