Booked to travel on Swiss First between Zurich and Singapore in July.
Anyone give me any info as to what LX F is like? What are the good and bad points? What is included (sleeper suits?) Thanks, Caledonian |

Thanks, Caledonian I will be kind and summarize the strong and weak points of Swiss First for you. STRONG POINTS Excellent flat bed seats in 1 x 2 x 1 configuration Lots of room Nice dark-blue duvet provided for sleeping Swiss First on the A340 is nicer as there are only 8 seats and these aircraft are newer than the A330s Superb cuisine, truly a feast in F * For detailed pics, visit www.travelscholar.com * Very large meal table Seat's ottoman can allow you to have dinner with another F passenger Well-designed F cabin w/ a bar unit in the middle of the cabin WEAK POINTS Rather inappropriate amenity kit for F standards No sleep suits (slippers on select flights) IFE somewhat limited Inconsistent cabin crews (2 cabin crew assigned to F cabin) |
Thanks for your replies!

Resurrected this rather ancient thread, but perhaps someone could offer a new assessment of the First Class product as it now stands a few years later? Specifically, are sleeper suits offered now? Is the amenity kit better? Are there socks or slippers? From this ( http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/swiss...-f-review.html ) and other previous posts, seems inconsistent. I will be flying a day flight from PVG to ZRH so suspect no sleeper suit.

Pajamas are also given out on dayflights in F. You don't even have to ask for them.
Concerning the actual product I suggest you take a look on the various Trip Reports. LX F is excellent and they can totally measure up with SQ etc. |
Thanks, should have looked there in the first place but even after a couple of years I still haven't gotten used to the refurb of FT's fora.

No inconsistency with LX F , simply one of the best , especially if you like Louise.;) |
Is there a walk up bar in F in the 340's?

That's true, but there are no barstools etc. and you are in full vision of all F class passengers. It's a convenient station for a quick refill, but even LX refrains from calling it a "bar".

Swiss first is excellent
just had a wonderful round trip to Boston in First, outbound in the new first, inbound in the old. The advantage of the new first is the privacy of the cubicles, but since on both flights we had the cabin to ourselves that wasn't an issue. The service and food were excellent. The trolley of starters is an excellent idea, the cheeses are excellent and the wines are great.
Compared with BA the food and service is vastly better. I presume that Swiss don't do op-ups to first hence only 2 of us in the cabin. |
