Unable to book 8K

Hi,

I tried booking 8K via the website and on the phone. Due to being limited comfort they change doesn't stick and it reverts me back to my previous seat.

Did anyone encounter such a problem? Is there a way to book the seat anyway?

It might be due to 8K also being reserved for SEN/HON, though this is not displayed because of the limited comfort note.

That is indeed my understanding.

Could anyone provide an update on the availability of F seats on 343s sold as J-Y only (in this specific case ZRH-TLV). There was mention earlier of LX trying to sell the F seats for a hefty price for a while but I am not sure if this is continuing (I can't imagine people were paying €700 or so for the better seat with normal C service!).

If this "experiment" has stopped, does LX just block the cabin, or is it possible to grab those seats at the airport? They don't look available at OLCI (whether for free or for a fee). I appreciate that as *G I would be much lower in the pecking order than HON+SEN but in at least one of my flights there seem to be few of them flying (considering the vast majority of priority seats still show as available a few days before the flight). Thanks in advance!

A330, family of four (two older kids who are pretty self sufficient) in J. Pretty good seat selection. We can take four in the mini cabin in row five -- seats A, B, D,and G. Or we can take 11D and G, and 10K and 11K. I'm leaning toward the latter, but curious what people think.

I'd go for 11D/G, 10K and 11K.

Seat 4K vs. a crown seat

Hi,

I know there is a different seating thread, but haven't found the right answer there.

I'm flying next week from SFO to ZRH and have 2 options:
1) Seat 4K
2) Seat 8/10K

From what I've read the 4K seat is nice because it is in the front smaller private cabin. But I saw many "complaints" that since there is no divider between the seat and the aisle it can be quiet bothersome.

From your experience, which seat is better? How annoying is having the 4K seat next to the aisle?

Thanks,
Joe

What do you consider a "crown" seat?

Just like 4K, 8K and 10K are open towards the aisle.

The big advantage of 4K (or any seat in rows 4 and 6) is the _much_ larger cubbyhole for your feet. Also, the only traffic you might get in 4K are the FAs going to the F cabin.

In my opinion, 4K >>> 8K / 10K.

Thanks

Thanks,

From the seat map the "crowns" have a wide divider on both sides of the seat (http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Swi...A340-300_B.php). But I agree with you, I guess no one will go next the 4K seat since it is the first business row.

BTW, seat 4A is still available, but only for Sen/Hon passengers. If I want to try and grab it - how long before the flight do they open the seats to everyone?

Thanks,
Joe

I think we call them "thrones" here, but neither 8K nor 10K fall into this category.

Once online check in opens, 23 hours before departure.

Thanks, my bad. I meant thrones.
Which seats are considered thrones?

All single A seats in even numbered rows, i.e. 4A, 6A, 8A, 10A, 12A.

I guess 4/6A are the best (front cabin, throne). But which are more convenient? 4K or 8/10A?

Any thougts?

Which do people prefer? Throne in main cabin (8A, 10A)? Or a regular single seat in the front smaller cabin (i.e., 4K)

The "thrones", except 4 and 6 A have a cramped cubbyhole for the legs. The J and K seats have definitely more width for the feet.
