In Blick also

Seems a bit harsh.
I'm sure many of us here have also learnt the hard way to be careful with LX bookings - but maybe not 6700 hard.

If you're not sure about something, you better ask for advice.
Initiating a refund request is what it is: a refund request.
The wording Swiss has chosen might be poor, as well as the process. Which doesn't require another confirmation or contain a well worded hint towards an actual cancelation.

A big scam LH Group have been doing is when you get the notification of a change in your trip with the three buttons. I accept, I want to postpone and I want a refund. If its just a time change (or what they deem a time change which can actually be a cancellation due to the two hour rule) they were refunding the ticket in line with the fair conditions. Of course pax were suing, and LH lost.
You have to be very careful.

so you want to re-book and you click on 'cancel' without knowing what that does? Not the fault of LX ... that said, the process is terrible and should change. A very expensive lesson.

OK - the process is maybe not very customer friendly.
However if you click on https://www.swiss.com/ch/en/customer-support/refund the conditions are clear:
- If you flight is not cancelled by the airline, refund will be according to the ticket conditions.
- You might only get back the airport taxes
- In case you are not sure of the ticket conditions contact the service center
- Once you start a refund request your tickets will be cancelled and cannot be rebooked any more.
I think it is pretty crisp and clear.
(And no I am usually not defending Swiss but here....)
