Checked baggage w/overnight connection at GVA
Hi all:
We (family of 3, including one 7 yr old) will be travelling MUC LH ZRH LX GVA - overnight - GVA LX PDL in two weeks time. Since this will be our annual family vacation we need to check luggage (and before anyone asks we have to do the overnight@GVA gig because of several schedule changes). STA@GVA is 9:45 p.m.; STD@GVA is 8:00 a.m. the next morning.
Given the overall luggage situation & airport madness would you suggest to short check the luggage to GVA (having to wait for it after arrival cutting our overnight stay even shorter) or check it through all the way to PDL? We have Airtags in all bags to track progress but it'd be still a bummer to arrive at PDL without bags (which has happened before on a short connection in LIS) or having to wait for bags to be delivered in GVA and having to wait in line to check bags again early in the morning. Travel is in business class and we're 2 SEN and 1 FTL.
TIA!

Thanks chris63. Thanks to another round of schedule adjustments (this time LX is to blame) we needed to rebook the itin once again. We shall now arrive at GVA at 12:30 p.m., planning to spend the rest of the day in Lausanne, before heading back to GVA and spend the night in a hotel courtesy of LH. With such a long layover we will most likely check our bags just to GVA initially.
