r/t is r/t ... no refund. Did you check what full flex one-way costs? That is often not that much more than r./t on flex tickets.

well full flex is full flex

Flight is to Brussels so costs are rather high especially for 4. One way is 30% more than r/t, cheaper to book r/t in eco.

full flex is full flex which means you can change as you wish and you can get a full refund. You can't circumvent fare rules though in the absence of an irop situation. You can put the return far into the future where you are near certain there might be a substantive schedule change and then use that as an argument to receive 1/2 r/t refund. In the absence of an invol situation ... you can't get a partial refund. Otherwise nobody would buy one-ways anymore

It is rare that full flex o/w is 30% higher than r/t. What is the route/dates?

So to be clear. You can buy a r/t and only fly the outbound ... that is totally o.k. You can't get a refund for the unflown portion though.
