BKK in LX first - which lounge & when check in

I couldn’t find the info in the F services thread apologies if I overlooked and thanks for pointing me to the answer if I overlooked.

flying out of BKK in Swiss F in two weeks.

i assume I can use the Thai first lounge that also has complimentary massage. Most likely not offered currently (when flying in there were no services for F as eg buggy to security etc) so wondering if someone recently did a star alliance F flight out of BKK with other than Thai.

also by any chance when does the Swiss check in counter open? 2 or 3 hours before flight, hotline was not able to clarify. It’s a late flight and would need to be at airport a bit earlier due to travels and don’t want to sit in front of the closed check in counter for hours (as happened in EWR with LH F &#128514

any other hot tips for flying out of BKK in LX F to max the fun?

many thanks for any guidance

Not flown out of BKK since Thailand imposed severe restrictions but prior LX check in opens 3 hrs before the flight, that should not have changed, the lounge was TG F, LX PA’s escorted to immigration & from there to the F lounge. Massages in the TG F lounge were only provided to pax on TG metal.

I can confirm these information. Unfortunately, no massage for LX F pax. The 2-3 times I flew F BKK-ZRH, there was also a PA that escorted me from the TG F lounge to the gate (skipped BP check line) and made sure that I was in front to board first.

I can confirm all of the above from my pre-covid experience. No massage, but the lounge offers fantastic Thai food, served in private lounges and/or in a dining room. My advice is to eat there, rather than on the plane.

Former TG F and C lounges remain closed. The new TG Prestige Lounge near gate D4 has an F section, the so called fishbowl. This F section has no facilities or service of any kind, so you walk to the main lounge to get food and drinks. The fishbowl is not really seperared from the main lounge, all C passengers can also enter without any checks. The Prestige Lounge looks better than the former D lounges, food and drink selection is slightly above the former C offerings. SQ an BR lounges remain closed so the only alternative is the TK C lounge.

Yesterday, LX check-in was open when I arrived a bit less than four hours before departure. The PA for F passengers remains, but just for departures. There is a new fast track security and immigration, currently about the only positive aspect of BKK.

LX out of BKK? Best thing is to sleep. Food out of BKK has always been bad. No airbridge for door 1 this morning in ZRH and Heidi train as there was no F pickup present. Crew did a good job despite their 17 hour hotel lockup in Bangkok.

I hope that the TG F lounge (or at least the SQ lounge) will re-open until my BKK-ZRH flight in August. Also I guess that the situation for the crew will be more relaxed with the departure of LX181 at ~1:00 PM again. I also prefer the earlier departure from BKK and over-day flight over the midnight departure.

The TG prestige lounge is very nice, better even than the new SQ lounge, better catered & much better beverage selection, at least it was before TG went into life support, easy to try both since they are next door to one another.

i think you got the crew that brought me in, Maitre with beard and no hair, very charming Markus and a quirky french-swiss captain?

Yep. They had a very light load last night. Flight was fully booked but there were 147 offloads due to inop door 4L.

do I get this right, one of the doors didn’t work and they had to cancel 147 pax?

How was the food? I assume it’s the same Parkhotel Vitznau menu from inbound but prepared by station? I read in another response that quality is a bit off ex BKK compared to ZRH catering… it’s a night flight so actually will just eat in lounge have some salmon and chocolate with sufficient amounts of nightcaps and sleep it off…

Food ex ZRH has always been excellent in F, from BKK always awful by comparison, so much so I felt inclined to make complaints

Maybe the F lounge situation gets better when TG starts F service on BKK-LHR again soon.

One should hope so, but when I walked past last week it did not exactly look like neither the F nor J lounges (D and C piers) were in a state fit to open any time soon. Rather looked like storage rooms. Spa is also closed as previous posters mentioned.
