In my late twenties I had a Laphroaig 30 at the distillery on Islay. It was rather mute. Kind of just brown and water. Good gravy!

Exactly, that's what I mean by older is not always better

Age of whisky has become such as a "thing" (to avoid the word fetish), as opposed to taste.

FCL E is hard to beat, especially as long as there is no rain.

I actually also like the rainy days in FCL E....when you can see the airplanes coming from the north landing in rain and fog...

Would anyone have a menu or even a short list of the offerings in the E First lounge at breakfast time?

I'm going to be there in the morning hours (6 am to 9 am ish) for the first time. In the past I've always either been there later in the day or not at all so not quite sure what the breakfast time offering is.

Full English, Omelette's, Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon or Bacon etc, huge selection & if you prefer something from the Main daly Menu, usually not a problem, everything is cooked freshly, enjoy !

September 5 course menu

The current menu was excellent and the wines suggestion as well. First time at the Swiss First Lounge so don't have any comparison but much more refined than what I have had at Lufthansa First Class Lounges or at the FCT in years past. Really enjoyed this.

September Menu

Variation of pumpkin

Sweetcorn cream soup

Granite Verveine

Cod

Pear and chocolate dessert

The breakfast menu doesn't change much, only the set menu of the month.

For a "taste" of it, see this:

Forgive me for asking this lounge access question

I apologize, I'm sure this has been asked before and the answer is buried in here.

I'm flying LH F LAX-MUC, connecting on same ticket to LH J MUC-ZRH.

I would love to visit the FCL E: would I get access if I'm terminating in ZRH ( I don't think so but asking anwyay) ?

If not, what if I buy a Y ticket from ZRH to LHR for later that same day?

Thanks for tolerating my question.
