Yes, it‘s annoying that we‘re all getting, as our dearest Swiss Lurker once put it, „a negative access message“.
I‘ll certainly not put a foot in the „Expire“ Lounge, and even less will I queue up for that experience. The terminal itself is 10 times nicer than that prison.

What Swiss (or other lounges) can I visit in ZRH? Connecting from ZAG (D gates) to YYZ (E gates) with my AC*G dad in business class

At present, none. If you have a Priority Pass, you can try the (badly overrun) Aspire Lounge in the airside center, the only lounge open in the airport right now.

Why would anyone wait even five minutes to get a free drink in sub-optimal conditions?

There are comfortable places to park oneself in and around the concourse: some might even have refreshments available, in exchange for a modest payment ......

...ouch. Any good restaurants or secluded cafes at the E-gates? Even though I’ve probably flown AC879 or various LH group flights from the E-gates around 15 times, I’ve only ever been to the LX lounges.

Maybe Swiss could give out vouchers like when the A lounges were being refurbished?

Awesome! The seating there almost looks lounge-like, so I'll definitely give it a try. Some things are okay priced but some prices are just insane, even for Swiss standards - for instance, hot chocolate with whipped cream is 9.20 CHF.

It seems that many intercontinental carriers (i.e. AC, SQ and some LX flights) have moved to D gates even though some flights are still operating from E - anyone know why that is? For the record, every single AC flight I've taken to/from ZRH was at E.

Crowd control in the Heidi train and passenger convenience. No need to use E gates if plenty of stands are available at D.

I actually don't think E is open for pax flights. I know they handle some pax-freighter flights there.

BA709 took off a half hour ago from E-gates. So did LX188 and LX288 yesterday. Man, I really hope they move back to E-gates, for some reason I just find them to be much nicer than the D-gates. The train is pretty good too.

The BA709 today was a cargo only service.

BA resumes passenger service from ZRH tomorrow 10th July planned on A319 which will operate from D Gates.

AC879 left from the E-gates yesterday, and so did a handful of LX flights. Sounds like a great place to find a bunch of seats to relax on during a layover, because there’s at most 2 flights leaving per hour.

So did BA709 today (12th of July)

I was able to enter the Aspire lounge in ZRH as a SEN last weekend. It was early morning so it was not too busy, but there was nothing noteworthy there either: you could get a morning coffee or champagne and a pre-packaged plate of pretzels. Note that you will not be able to bring in a guest with this current lounge arrangement.
