Does anyone have experience on this flight in early December? It sure would be nice if I had a chance at an empty row. I'm on a United K fare so no chance of an upgrade.

I'm curious as to what difference the booking class makes. By what mechanism would you have expected to upgrade? Honest question.

I'd have considered a mileage upgrade if it had been available. I was told my United K booking ruled it out.

Hobo first is appealing, though. I'm wondering if paying $40 for a seat assignment towards the back would improve my chances of getting an open row.
