Swiss JFK Lounge renovated

They close the lounge until year-end for renovation. FCL/HON can use Ethiad lounge. Not sure about C/SEN.

Oh that's surprising, didn’t hear about this yet. I’m locking forward to seeing the results!

Why does LH Group still keep separate lounges for their various brands instead of streamlining and offer an integrative lounge concept worldwide?

Especially abroad it doesn't make any sense IMO...

Simple, at JFK and ORD they use different terminals.

Now, if you’d ask why they use different terminals....

In places where they are in the same terminal, there are only LH-branded lounges, with the exception of DME where there are LX and OS lounges and no LH lounge.

Renovation was long overdue. Any experiences with the Etihad lounge? Has the Etihad lounge a first class section?

...the answer for JFK is that shortly after LH bought LX, the moved together in T1 and it was a big nightmare because of capacity bottlenecks (gates, security etc.). So after a little while LX moved back to T4 for a better passenger experience. @:-)

For FTL that is more generous than what they did at ZRH during the A renovations.

There is definitely no First Class Section. Was just told, that the whole lounge is for Business and First passengers. No separate section for F. They have a dinner service and a buffet. The lounge opens at 02:30 p.m. like the Swiss lounge did. Personell comes from Swissport partly at this time. Etihad has only a flight in the late evening.

Opening still planned for Dec. 19th. This date was the date of the first opening of the Swiss lounge in JFK T4, I was told.

Just has the pleasure to visit the lounge. Clearly no F section and towards 5.30 pm quiet busy. Food is much better than the LX lounge. It is a combination of Etihad and Swiss food choices. The rest of the lounge is really nothing special to talk about. Service is average, no working desk but a large dining area and a bar. Compare to overseas lounges, the whole lounge feels a bit “empty” - not in people but in appearance.

Any updates on JFK lounge renovation? Is it on schedule? Does anyone know if it is just a cosmetic or actual reconstruction and other improvement to the space. IMHO it was pretty good lounge, mostly I used it in F section only. For 6-8 people it was totally sufficient. It became too crowded, and overwhelming for one lounge waitress shared with C section, if there are more than 10 people there.

Originally when T4 opened I remember Swiss even had a fireplace (self-venting gas modern design) in the section where the dinning tables / area is now.
