Dinner in F for 2AM departure from DXB?

Hello,

LX departs at 2AM from DXB to ZRH

Will a dinner be served in F ? I haven't flown this late with LX for a while

Thanks & regards,

I was on the flight you mentioned in F last year and LX served a full dinner. They probably still do.

Been a while (though I just did this in C) but my recollection is a shorter version of the normal F dinner otherwise you could go straight from dinner to breakfast service on such a short flight.

Just checked the pictures: There was salad, Balik salmon, soup, main course and dessert in F, just like the first service on any LX flight. And yes, we did not get much sleep, but took a nap at one of the day rooms at the FCL in E.

IIRC, LH was really stingy, even in F, on the DXB-FRA flight that departed around the same time as the LX flight; but LX provided "the works".

Yes, there was an escort, but it was not particularly helpful.

Used the Marhaba PA escort earlier this month and that saved me at least 10 minutes of queuing for security and passport controls.

You have ave a choice of Marhaba F or LH SEN lounge and the Marhaba PA service will take you where you prefer to go. Marhaba F is nicer but depending on the actual gate might be a bit of a walk.

Exactly!

The escort saves a few minutes, but not too much.

The SEN lounge is not too bad, even a shower there, but no view whatsoever. So it's up to personal taste, I guess.

I was lucky enough to take this flight last september. Following are some impressions of the flight including the menu of that time (It will have changed in the meantime, but the structure should have stayed the same). Regarding the escort service, it will escort you to passport control and will maybe spare you a few minutes of waiting in line for passport control and the following security check. From there onwards you are on your own. The Senator Lounge in DXB is nice, good enough food and enough seating available. I think I ate a plate of M&Ms :P. But for real dinner you should wait until you're on board.

Wonderful view taking off from DXB.

Sharing a meal at one table with your companion is always special.

Main course.

Breakfast.

Geargous view when landing in Zurich.

I will always be puzzled by people who eat dinner at 2am on a flight, but to each their own.

I've done this flight many times, but originating in MCT. It's objectively miserable, especially because you have to wake up again for the DXB stopover. I try to go straight to bed.

I'd sooner do EK or Oman Air's new F, which looks awesome. But M&M loyalty and all...
