First Class and HON now board first at ZRH

Revised boarding process at ZRH?

Itís been a month or two since my last long-haul flight from ZRH, but today I noticed for all SWISS flights departing E Gates they were calling for First Class and HON Circle members to board first.

Business Class, Senator and Star Gold were then called to board next.

I never understood why they didnít do this in the first place, but itís a positive change for First Class pax to avoid the ZRH boarding melee. I was even proactively told by the lady doing the US passport check to pre-board.

They have been introducing these signs at some gates for LX flights as early as August, if memory serves. I'm seeing them more and more rolled out, agree that it's a much needed change!

Honestly with the lounge near by now, no need to show up early at the gate...

I somehow always thought this was already the case. But while I do enjoy early boarding on short haul aircraft on the longhaul ones I usually board as one of the last.

If I remember correctly the boarding time shown on F boarding cards at Zurich is actually later than the standard boarding time. Personally I prefer to get on last, but can understand many people want to be first on and this change will make them happy (with little impact to anyone else!).

when you fly to china the lady in charge of checking your visa before check in doesn't give you any priority above *G customer and business class customer (in a rude manner)

This one of the few advantages of the car service and the escort to the seat on the plane on LH: You do not have to worry when to leave the lounge and about standing in line anywhere.

Yes & itís a significant advantage & where LH got it so right with the FCT, originating in FRA there is no standing in line for anything

Although LX are improving with the F arrival service & this pre boarding for F pax. Arrive in F in FRA & your entirely at the mercy of what FRAPORT has in store for you

The place to arrive in F seems to be A380 in MUC now, where you get picked up by car from the plane and get driven to either the lounge or the exit.

Have to say though that I do not care so much about being picked up from the plane. The one thing that really works for me is the ride to the plane (on whatever vehicle, don't care about Porsches or Mercedeses) and the escort to the door of the F cabin.

.
Not really, since itís only A380 arrivals in F at MUC
, all F arrivals at ZRH get this now.

one would only hope LH will provide a full arrival service at FRA & MUC for all F pax & live up to their 5* aspirations

OK, when I last arrived in ZRH in F a few months ago it was not yet in place. Good for LX.

Update: flew to the US on Monday and thereís now a separate roped off priority boarding lane for First and HON pax so you can arrive at any time and avoid the LX boarding melee. Finally! Very happy with LX for this.

Also side note, A380 welcome F service at MUC seems to now be finished as I flew in this morning and nada.

Actually this has never been an issue for me. As an F/HON pax you always had the option to approach the gate at any time and ask for individual boarding at the time of your own convenience.
