The LX inflight system is operated by Panasonic, and thus should be available to ipass customers:

Not all Panasonic customers are on the iPass system. Swiss is not explicitly listed on the iPass page. That's not definitive either way but I would not take the PAC kit as a certainty the iPass credentials will work.

Are the wifi systems on the 777-300ER and the A330 the same? If so I will be able to see if Ipass works, as im flying to SFO this Monday.

How did it work out? Since I'll fly lx in a few days I'm quite interested if you were able to use your ipass.

Just an update from my recent Swiss flight.
Although it shows the option to connect via ipass, I wasn't able to do so. It gave me an error message.
So I asked the flight attendant (mdc) about that. He had no clue and asked directly online the ground services, who hadn't any idea about that as well. They took my email to let me know what's up with that option.

Meanwhile I wrote to ipass customer care to ask about the error message (trouble with my account login or general problem?). Voilą their answer:

... Although we support Lufthansa flights, we do not fully support all flight on all routes and currently iPass has been deployed and working only on 112 flights of Lufthansa. Since all the flights have the same network name that is the reason why this is shown as iPass supported where in we may not actually be able to connect. ....

Here is the email I received today:
Dear Artemio

I contact you today concerning your request regarding the iPass App.

I got in contact with our IT department but for the time the use of this APP is not foreseen.

I hope this information was helpful and I wish you a nice day.
Now we know for sure it doesn't work on Swiss flights, but there is still a little hope it will be possible one day since the software has already the option for it.

Can anybody give me a hint how to get an IPass? The website suggests it‘s just a B2B offering...

I barely remember I could get one through my Swisscom account but did not find anything on their website

iPass was a great thing back in the day when data was expensive, no it has become nearly irrelevant... you could dial in to various free access points and use the hotel wifi or ethernet and not pay 20-25$/day for access....

The 10usd monthly rate seems not available anymore.

Here the link to the website you were probably looking for.

And here the thread talking about that.
