Pajamas situation in LX F

Hey all, I am booked on LH F for travel in August but something came up and I need to change my flights. I see LX F on the 777 as an option would fit my schedule better for a different day departure (I have never experienced LX F).

I have read a few reviews that showed that daytime flights in LX F out of ZRH to US do not come with pajamas in F??? Some other reviewers seem to have got them as expected...What exactly is the situation? I know, pajamas are important to me, first world problems.

Cheers,
OF

I've had them on all flights (50 or so) unless this is something new from the last few months.

They had pjs for all of us on recent trip in F from Zrh to sfo. They were quite comfy. I basically changed immediately.

One thing that wasn't clear was whether they were ours to keep as part of the fare. I assumed not and folded them back into the plastic bag they came in.

Had PJs on all LX long-haul flights in F, as far as I remember. And they are my favorite airline PJs. ^

Same here. Always received PJs - on day flights, night flights, to/from US, to/from SE Asia. Maybe from time to time the FA might forget to offer them proactively, but then I am sure that by asking you will get one.

Yes, the pajamas are for keeps, the crew actively encouraged me to take them. The ones I had in 2009 were excellent quality (Van Laack IIRC) and I am still using them. The ones issued since then are less good and don't fit so well, not the same quality.

Same experience here on many flights.

On my last westbound transatlantic flight they were not offered proactively. The MdC told me how the new directives are to offer them "on demand" westbound (daytime) and pro-actively eastbound (night). But he also confirmed that they are always available for every F pax.

I actually like the Zimmerli better than the Van Laack. Also consider the current LX PJs much superior to the Van Laack you get in LH F now.

Thank you all, makes sense. I was very surprised when I saw some people not receiving them, but I guess all they had to do was... ask.

One thing about the new zimmerly pjs is that they are too short. The XL should have longer arms and legs. I'm 6'2 and there are plenty of taller guys out there. This has been the case for years now.

Hello Concerto,

I prefer the new ones that are 100% combed cotton.

The Black ones delivered in the past were pol/cotton IIRC, and might last longer, but the quality was not as good.

Exactly, the new ones are much softer and pleasant to wear, at least in my book...

Reviving this … I was providing my constructive observations and feedback to Swiss that it‘s getting more and more often, pajamas are not offered proactively onboard, even for a 10+ hour night flight in First class. The respond to me was that pajamas must be ordered 6 days in advance via their hotline. This is the very first time I‘ve heard of this „requirement“ in the last 10+ years flying - is this something I‘ve missed? Has this ever been communicated in website (I couldn‘t find), or email, newsletters etc.?
