Totally agree! That's why I qualified with "even if it was evenly distributed" - the point being there are only 4 in service, not 5, at the present.

Any update on whether more planes have been refurbished?

FYI the fist bird took 3 full months to refurbish. I would expect the next ones to be slightly faster but it's just been one month for HB-JMI.

Less than one month. HB-JMI flew to DRS on 7 March.

Darn. Was hoping a second plane would be converted in time for my flight from JNB in a few weeks. I realize that it wouldn’t make my flight the refurbed one, but it would have changed the probabilities.

I'd guess it will be finished in the next few weeks, so there are still some chances that it will be finished before your flight.

And if you do get the old F, it gives you a chance to say good bye to one of the most comfortable seats ever installed in an F cabin.

Fair enough. I won't be viewing the television anyways so I'm not sure why I care so much. I guess I just like shiny new things!!

Good old times and many souvenirs too. Now on LX you are in a coffin with sliding doors. The 777 is a disaster in F and C - not only for the noise.

Back in it’s day old F was nice but I much prefer the new F on 777

Overall, I do also prefer the new F on the 777, but with LX (at least for me) it is not like on some other airlines, where the old product is almost unacceptable when compared with the new one. My favourite product would be the old F seat, which works better for me both sitting and sleeping, in an airy cubicle the style of the new F. Don't know why they had to make the seat less comfortable, to build a wall around it.

HB-JMI has completed two test flights DRS-DRS tonight, so it looks like it could be back in service soon.
