So funny. When he has 100 he might have enough to surf during the entire flight! They expire after a +/- a year, so thats lots of F segements!

If the delay continues LX will consider to quit the project and wait until around 2023 to replace the A343's together with the A330's with hopefully new A350's...Hopefully the seats will not fall apart by then

Well, we do not know how many of the vouchers have expired already.

These older seats are a bit of a pain if you are keen on watching a movie as they still feature the (what I call) 4 pixel screens, but other than that I am actually starting to appreciate them more and more again. It's a bit of a vintage feel, it's past old

For sure the screen is the worst part. They should loan 12" 512GB Ipads with some movies... But the rest is fine. For some reason, I've had really great crews on these flights. Theres no better seat for sleeping as well.

Any chance it has begun? HB-JMH flew to DRS this morning, and the cycling of an A330 on ZRH-PVG has also started.

From what I heard yes, HB-JMH is the first 340 to get the upgrade until end of Jan

Glad to see this going forward if that is indeed the case. I plan on flying the NRT route once or twice in the next 2 years.

HB-JMH will be refurbished in Dresden and should be flying for Swiss again at the end of Januray or early February 2019.
All five A340 should be refurbished and flying by summer 2019.

I'm looking forward to seeing it and flying in the new cabin soon.

I do look forward to a good days sleep on the 22nd from NRT to ZRH, will bring my own Ipad. And yes I do like the openness of the cabin, especially with often light loads in F (I fly on low demand days upfront in general)

This might be my 2nd last flight in the "old" 340.. will document it properly

and does anyone here know if the 5 frames will be retrofitted in immediate succession or will there be some gaps? if it's ca. 1 month per frame, then by early June it should be done right? I know that people here have been saying summer, but it could mean June, July, August, early September...

I assume LX has a strong preference to have it completed by end of June before the summer high season

Does anyone know the latest status of the retrofit?

I am flying NRT - ZRH in C mid of February and the app I am using showed "A340" but since around Christmas it disappeared and now only shows "-".

Wondering which type of aircraft LX will be using.

LX will be using the A340 100%, possiby you are lucky with the new product as the first of the refurbished planes should begin flying as of end of Jan / begining of Feb. There will be no changes concerning the aircraft type on the NRT route until 2020 when the route will probably be changed to B77W with the arrival of two extra frames then

A friend of mine who is an LX pilot said that the A340 pilots were not happy about the addition of the second Lav as they’re worried it’ll create too much noise being so close to the crew rest
