will be interesting to see the frequencies. most of the new destinations (GOT, HEL, ZAG, ...) will in my opinion require at least daily service to make sense and that will raise the question where they take the capacity from to enable all of this.
Also - does anybody have more info on the new seat - enhanced legroom sounds like NEK 2.0?

All the routes with a couple of exceptions already have competitors:
Ex-ZRH
GRZ - Intersky
DRS - Intersky, Ethiad Regional
NAP - Air Berlin
RIX - Air Baltic
HEL - Finnair
LEJ - Ethiad Regional
GOT - No competition
KRK - Eurolot
TLS - No competition
MLA - Air Malta
ADB - SunExpress
SCQ - Vueling

GVA-LUG - Ethiad Regional

The other thing that caught my attention is the number of flights operated by Avro's. LX with an expansion + Avro's + CS100 = hot summer.

Press release from Swiss on the new routes + news on food and new Seats and new AC

New routes - 16 year-round + 6 seasonal
Sixteen of the new points – Naples, Bari, Bilbao, Porto, Toulouse, Leipzig, Dresden, Graz, Gothenburg, Helsinki, Riga, Krakow, Ljubljana, Sarajevo, Sofia and Zagreb – will be provided with year-round service, while six of them – Palermo, Brindisi, Malta, Thessaloniki, Izmir and Santiago de Compostela – will be served in the summer months
Food:
New SWISS Economy foodservice on European flights

The refurbishment of the European Airbus fleet will also see the adoption of a new foodservice concept for the SWISS Economy cabin. Under the new approach, all the products will be sourced fresh daily from local Swiss producers. And these will include – depending on the flight’s length – warm quiches, fresh bakery items or (on longer flights) fresh salads and warm desserts. The meals will also be served in an attractive new packaging. As a result of these innovations, SWISS will now offer quality Swiss products in SWISS Economy on all European flights.
Seats:
By adopting a new type of seat which offers more legroom than at present, the new configurations will offer passengers the same comfort levels as today, and even more comfort in the Business Class section. At the same time, capacity will be increased by 12 seats on the A320 and by 19 seats on the A321. The new cabin interiors (including the seat covers) will also be modified to the style already seen in the SWISS Lounges and on the long-haul fleet.
New planes:
On the short- and medium-haul front the airline will be taking delivery of 30 new Bombardier CS100s from next year onwards to replace the present Avro RJ100 fleet. The Airbus fleet will be further expanded with the arrival of a new Airbus A321ceo in 2016. And between 2019 and 2022 SWISS will add ten state-of-the-art new Airbus A320neos and five Airbus A321neos to its fleet to replace ten of its older A320s and five A321s. SWISS also holds ten further options on A320neo-family aircraft. And on the long-haul front, six Boeing 777-300ERs will join the SWISS fleet from 2016 onwards. All in all, the new aircraft represent a total investment of some CHF 5 billion.

SFO 13 weekly for July/August '15:
per airlineroute:
SWISS in Summer 2015 season is increasing operations on Zurich – San Francisco route, which sees overall increase from 7 to 13 weekly, from 04JUL15 to 23AUG15. Planned schedule as follow.

LX036 ZRH0950 – 1300SFO 343 x4
LX038 ZRH1300 – 1615SFO 343 D

LX037 SFO1440 – 1055+1ZRH 343 x4
LX039 SFO1925 – 1540+1ZRH 343 D

On Zurich – Chicago route, summer seasonal increase from 7 to 11 weekly remains unchanged, from 30MAY15. However new flight operates as LX006/007 instead of LX2608/2609.
Not bad for a route launched in S10.

Where do they get the additional long-haul capacity from? I couldn't find any mention of routes that are being cut.

On the one hand the retiming of the BKK service but also the aircraft change for CAI and TLV to A320 family.

They are currently fiddling with the schedules... Airlineroutes reports adjustments to BOM with equipmemt (a mix of 343 and 330 instead of 330). An adjustement to BOM and TLV can free one 343 for SFO.

Well, on the one hand I was told by the MdC about a month ago and on the other hand, the A321 has approximatelx 20% less capacity (at the moment, wait until after refurbishment), so it seams pretty feasible for me. And I guess they will make more profit with a long-haul plane on a long-haul route.

I hope not. I regularly fly TLV - BRU on Saturdays, and the A330/340 is the main reason (aside from SN's bad flight schedule) to choose TLV-ZRH-BRU with LX instead of the direct SN flight TLV-BRU.

I think at this moment LX is the only western European carrier using widebodies into TLV. Except for BA maybe?

per ch-aviation.
Interesting stuff. But I missed the memo of the 4 Dash 8. I was aware of 2 (ZRH-LUG and another for GVA-LUG).
St. Tropez, Florence, Calvi compete with F7. So Swiss seems to be actively trying to make them bleed.

Swiss (LX, Zurich) will resume scheduled services to St. Tropez in Summer 2015 ch-aviation analysis of the carrier's timetable data has revealed. The flights, which will operate twice weekly from Geneva beginning June 21, are flown on-board one of four Dash 8-400s on lease from Tyrolean Airways (VO, Innsbruck).

In addition, the Swiss carrier has also secured slots at Milan Linate with a daily ARJ-100 flight to Zurich set to begin on December 19, 2014.

Swiss also plans to add Calvi, Florence Peretola, Palermo, Sarajevo, Skopje, Thessaloniki, Valencia Manises and Zakinthos to its network from Geneva next summer season using a combination of own A320 family aircraft and Tyrolean Dash 8-400s.

I don't want to panic, but Swissair was also launching enormous number of additional frequencies/destinations before it went bankrupt... Hopefully they know what they are doing (this time)...
