Right. But the timing change is mainly due to summer/winter time change in europe. Arrival time in ZRH remains unchanged.

Horrible change, which now copies LH
Agreed. This pretty much kills the flight in both directions for EU departing traffic on business.

I am not sure how the overall capacity cuts to Bangkok with Lufthansa give you more chances to book your next holiday in Asia with miles as you are now going to find smaller aircraft (which means less seats), lower frequency (which means less seats), and forget anymore about the onward connections to holiday places such as Vietnam which you used to be able to book or adding a tag on to KUL via BKK which opened up a lot of interesting areas within Malaysia for your Asia holiday.

The cuts are at best most helpful to the executive leadership team of Emirates in attaining their 2014 bonuses.

Thks info TRAVELSIG.

Normally we have not had problems with onward connections or we have even spent one night in BKK, which is always nice except for the traffic.
If there is no availability with miles let´s hope Finnair repeats the summer offers ex-Bcn.

the change in schedule for ZRH BKK ZRH allows LX not to compete directly with the TG night flight. First of all you have more options now, however I agree the 1300 departure is not an ideal time. If OS keeps the evening timing this is an option for me. I am more concerned about the LX fleet, the 340/330 are streched already today and you get delays out of ZHR when a technically problems arise as no other aircraft is available. This happen to me 2 weeks ago with LAX flight again. Overall it looks Asia is really getting difficult for LH Group to fill their planes. I wonder if just a different timing solve the problem.

For GRU I guess they testing higher number of seats and looking forward to the 777 on that route in 2016. Any idea if the 2xxx is operated by Swiss or Edelweiss? i like the night flight to GRU, lets see the load on the day flights. AF and KL both run day flights and at least for AF the day flight seems to have less load than the night flight. On my last trips on GRU route F and C was not always full like in the old days.

On Thursday LX92 had a problem and need to go back to ZRH after 2 hours circle over Switzerland. People stranded for a night at ZRH airport

Even if there had been an aircraft available and ready to go, it wouldn't have been able to leave due to the night curfew. This scenario is applicable to any flight leaving in the 23:00 wave.

As for the way Swiss handled the case, it seems to have been one of those "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situations, given the lack of hotel rooms in the Zurich area and the time of day the incident took place.

I'm quite surprised by the introduction of BNX and TGD, especially the former, as the airport has struggled to stay operational at all these past few years. The passengers (mostly Bosnian diaspora) are definitely there, though.

According to CH-Aviation LUG-GVA to be restarted

Swiss (LX, Zurich) plans to launch up to three times daily service linking Lugano and Geneva from March 30, 2015 using Dash 8-400s wet-leased from Tyrolean Airways (VO, Innsbruck). It will base a second Tyrolean Q400 in Lugano and will operate head to head with Darwin Airline (F7, Lugano)'s three times daily Saab 2000 Etihad Regional service on the route.

This is the second Swiss domestic route where Swiss now actively fights back at Etihad's European expansion plans following the announcement that from November 1, it will use Tyrolean Q400s for the Zurich-Lugano route replacing a wet-lease agreement with Darwin on the route. Darwin will continue to serve the route by itself twice daily.
Quite surprising to restart the route after over 10 years, almost having a mini Q400 hub to compete with F7.
