On LAX-ZRH 10/21, it wasn't available altho I did ask -- every seat seemed filled already -- but had I known then how bad the eco seat was going to be they could have offered almost any sum and I would have paid for it; much better for my bank balance that did not happen however...

It's up to you if you think 1,600eur is worth it. I don't think you're going to get a better offer than that though unless you have a very good chance of an op-up.

If money is no issue, go ahead - otherwise I wouldn't take it: the flight is very short and in C you should have the new seat which transforms in a full horizontal bed. If you want privacy you may try to choose one of the single C seats in this aircraft.

My advice keep your money in your pocket and if you have e-vouchers it is better to burn them.

SFO - ZRH upgrade
Was offered $600 upgrade from coach to biz in Dec. 2010 on SFO - ZRH flight. Wasn't an elite member (Frequent Traveler?) at that time.
Does anybody know if the cash upgrades are subject to your booking class? In other words, do all booking classes qualify for cash upgrades?
