At SFO check in a short while ago a couple was haggling hard for an F upgrade, even though F was 8/8. Check-in agent was like "we can't sell you anything."

LX15 - JFK-ZRH - At the check-in desk, I asked the price for upgrading from J to F and I was quoted $1,100 for the last available F seat, but with a J meal. I decided not to take it.

Does anyone have any recent data points on upgrading Y to F? I see some old posts saying that this is allowed if you’re willing to pay the price from Y to J and then from J to F.

would also never have paid that much. I think my limit for J to F on such a rather short flight of less than 7 hours would be max 500$

Flew ZRH-LAX yesterday. Was quoted 400CHF to upgrade to Premium Economy, 1000 CHF to Business. Went with the upgrade to Business.

Im shocked...I bid 1500 CHF from ZRH to EWR and it was declined. And there were only 2 pax in F with 6 empty seats.

Just looked at my Swiss booking for January next year (in J), for an F upgrade LX is asking for AU$6332 SIN-ZRH and AU$7467 for the flight back (on top of the J fare). Rip off!!

When do they start accepting Bid Upgrade offers?

EDIT: Just noticed they only offer Bid Upgrade on Swiss issued tickets that start with 724. My tickets were issued by Lufthansa with a different ticket number does that mean I cant use bid upgrade?

They simply protect the "exclusivity" of the product, but CHF 1500 is stiff......(short flight)

yes, I know. Business is good enough for me on a night flight. I sleep 6-7 hours anyway so could not benefit from anything in F on such a short flight.

for 500 I may reconsider, but would rather renounce than pay more.
