It was my first time on LX F and I was excited, service and food were in line with my expectations
1k is pretty cheap! Ord is also a little longer so you can actually enjoy it.

Just off LX9 (ORD-ZRH) a few hours ago. I was seriously hoping to snag one of those buy-ups to F for $1,000.

Check-in agent would not sell a cash upgrade to first because they didn't have catering; however she said the price is $1,600 (said it was always standard). Onboard they were willing to sell the upgrade to first and confirmed it would not have the J meal, but would have all of the other niceness. They also were not definitely not willing to negotiate and said the rate was set by corporate - also ~$1,600. Saner minds in our party decided this was not a good deal and I believe F went out 0/8.

The buy-up price from economy to business was $900.

A really spectacular crew!

At SFO check in a short while ago a couple was haggling hard for an F upgrade, even though F was 8/8. Check-in agent was like "we can't sell you anything."

LX15 - JFK-ZRH - At the check-in desk, I asked the price for upgrading from J to F and I was quoted $1,100 for the last available F seat, but with a J meal. I decided not to take it.

Does anyone have any recent data points on upgrading Y to F? I see some old posts saying that this is allowed if you’re willing to pay the price from Y to J and then from J to F.

would also never have paid that much. I think my limit for J to F on such a rather short flight of less than 7 hours would be max 500$

Flew ZRH-LAX yesterday. Was quoted 400CHF to upgrade to Premium Economy, 1000 CHF to Business. Went with the upgrade to Business.

Im shocked...I bid 1500 CHF from ZRH to EWR and it was declined. And there were only 2 pax in F with 6 empty seats.

They simply protect the "exclusivity" of the product, but CHF 1500 is stiff......(short flight)
