So I guess I would have to make 4 separate attempts at the cash upgrade at the counters

Any experience with success rates on any one of those sectors and a rough estimate on what it may cost? We are a group of 4 people and expect this to be costly regardless!! however estimating the financial damage would be very helpful.

If you estimate 3K EUR p.p. for a total of 12K EUR for 4 you should probably be OK. One comment- I am not sure there will be availability for 4 people to upgrade to F on these particular flights? Good luck and do post and let us know what happened?

Has anyone had experience booked on a code share flight? Does that matter? I am booked on LX metal but on a UA flight number.

I will answer my own question for anyone else's future information.
No, did not matter.
Asked they said either recalculate fare or buy up. Station manger looked on computer and said could offer me special $2000 from discounted business to F.
This was only for the ORD-ZRH sector not the next sector.

What do you expect? Four lavatories for eight passengers?

Go and check other airlines F config (as has been discussed here too) and you will see that there are usually at least 2 toilets. Does make a difference to some but YMMV.

Poor guy. Probably you haven't traveled in first class and you don't know how other airlines treat F class passengers

2 lav for any number of F class passengers is a norm in the industry with the exception to LX.

I guess the equation is: 2 lav for any number of F class passengers + crew

I flew ORD-ZRH on LX F last summer and I'm pretty sure there were 2 lavs.

Maybe not the same on all aircraft.

Perhaps you mean by "second lav" the one behind 5 K where they regularly escort F passengers in front of myself queueing .

Yes, behind 5 K, but it looked like an emergency and I let it go. I am relaxed as long as people are kind with me and serve me Champagne .

Has anyone ever received a cash upgrade offer to F class ex-YUL?

It seems that F class loads are quite poor ex-YUL and most of the time the F cabin flies with 1 pax to just two!!!!!!

Has anyone had any success on the counter upgrading MCT to ZRH ?? If so, how much was LX asking for the upgrade?

Tried my luck at LX179 this evening as it looks pretty filled up in economy. Was quoted 1500CFH (buying up from H), which I politely declined. The guy I spoke to even tried negotiating a better price on the phone with who ever I think was his manager, but to no avail.
