Just boarded LX14 and was absolutely unhappy to see that they still have the awful Zurich/Widder menu cycle. Well I guess I have to live through another Zürigschnetzelts.... would have hoped to see something new and better now in September.

Hi verve, it's a pity as they already advertised Solothurn as their next canton until November on their website ....

tom-r6 Sep 10, 2012 8:44 am

@verve, julmops

The menu cycle change from Zurich to Solothurn was on Sept. 5th (I think the 3 month cycle changes are always on the first Wednesday of a month).

Well, after the excellent Ticino cycle the Zurich one was disappointing - from starter to dessert. But of course if I compare with lufthansas current offerings in C LX is still worlds better.
The main issue I have with LX is that they do not change the menus frequently enough or at least have "daily specials" as they've used to have them also in biz. I guess the current cycle might be OK for the average traveler but if you fly Longhaul on a weekly basis it gets very boring towards the end of the three months period.

I was keen on the Aelpler Maccaroni (used to enjoy it at the LX C lounge in ZRH some years ago) but no, "sorry it either wasn't loaded or is a misprint in the menu but we have Ricotta Ravioli instead"...on the 6th this month that was.

I guess nobody cares for the F menu ZRH-GRU of August anymore...

When the FA asked what I wanted last week on YUL-ZRH, I asked her what from the menu was from Solothurn. She laughed and said that none of the food was remotely mittelschweiz.

I wonder why they bother to feature a region if they don't put items on the menu that are from there. I guess one can argue that they have one red wine from Solothurn (the Wengi). Not really a complaint, but just something that didn't make sense to me.
