Is there any particular reason why b!tch is on the list of forbidden words?

Is it considered such an offensive swearword in the US that we can't even say someone spoke b!tchily? Or discuss female dogs? Just wondered, because there are a lot worse words not censored, over here b!tch is really very, very innocuous so that one has always struck me as rather odd and bizarre.

Personally, I enjoy kvetching, but I can understand the need to b!tch from time to time.

The reason it is banned is because it creates “a paradigm of shame and indignity” . You don't really want FT to become a paradigm of shame and indignity, do you?
