A way to search for airport codes
Here is just a crazy idea I had.
I used to seach for "ELP" to see if anyone was crazy enough to venture into this city, but I am not able to do so anymore. And from moderating OMNI in the past, I was used to seeing posts like You are an ******* and a ***** that should ***** and ***** Could the same be done for airport codes, if I enter "ELP" the censor, replaces it with "AIRPORT_ELP" or "AIR_ELP", or something to that extent? I am not saying to make it retroactive, but that would make it possible, transparent, and consistent for everyone to be able to search for airport codes. Anyways, just a thought ;) |
But would that hairport_ELP? Airport_FRAnkly I airport_HAVe my doubts.

So I see. Hmm still leaves an issue for some airport codes that are also words, such as ADD AFT AIM ALL BAY BEG BET and airport codes that are also a common abbreviation, such as ATC BIS |
All I'll say is s......ing and S....horpe
A special case was made for the four letter word jfe tried, because it occurs commonly in place names in Japan |

Hmmmm...... maybe this won't work Oh well, it was a crazy idea ;) |
We could all switch to ICAO codes. Much harder to remember though.
