90 and 90 to get "special access"

Being affected by this personally, I know I'm partial.

The whole "90 posts" and "member for 90 days" to grant someone access to the special forum where everyone gives away money and beer flows like wine seems excessive. I think there should be a stipulation where if you have, say, over 120 days it drops to 60 required posts. And also, a way to circumvent the whole process if you can be validated in some other way (i.e. in person by another respected member, etc). Nothing major, but it sounds a bit more fair to me. I know I'm an abnormal user not posting on a daily basis, but thought I'd throw that out there.

The admin's for the House of Miles....aka Flyertalk, et al......do grant exceptions for members with less than 90/90 or 180/180 depending on the access requested.

Might help to enlist the support of a moderator who can vouch for your contributions in a particular forum.

Or you can make the request directly to the House of Miles staff.

If you feel you have a case to present and you need a name/e-mail for a contact, I'd suggest PM'ing a FT moderator.

I believe Hollis personally has access to the 90/90 forum... :)

Personally, I appreciate the entry requirements....

He was substantially short of 90 posts yesterday but I see he has now rectified that.

Plus I was also answering this in general for anyone else interested in the subject.

Persoanlly, I like the opposit. Say one didn't meet 90/90 requirements, and now it's at 120 days. I think the req. no. of posts needs to be greater as (s)he has more time to contribute. Like 120 days 100 posts or something like it. One post per day is not that hard to do :)
I agree that if current member validates another member, (s)he should have access to certain forums.
