The snake

Perhaps this has been mentioned before; if so, I apologize for being redundant. I am posting to find out if there is a way to block that snake ad which seems for me to pop up more than any other ad in FT. It is an eyesore and frankly I have a fear of snakes. Yes, it is irrational. I am not complaining about the presence of advertising. I just want to block out an ad which personally bothers me.

Is there anything I can do?

If it's really an issue, use www.admuncher.com , I have yet to see the infamous snake ;)

When starting to download ad muncher, I got a warning window from IE saying that the publisher could not be verified and that the file did not have a valid digital signature which verifies its publisher. What should I make of this warning?

You can ignore that warning. It's Microsofts way of telling you that it's an "unsigned" application. Everything except for Microsoft applications are unsigned.

I downloaded it and IE wont work when its on. It opens then an error message pops up, the IE shuts down. Any suggestions?

I've blocked the ads from the domain for that ad.

Good summary...a bit off-topic, but I just find it amazing how Microsoft uses security fears for anti-competitive measures. I helped someone install some programs today and she (computer novice) would never have dared to ignore these warnings...which basically means she would never dare to install anything non-Microsoft!

I’m glad there’s someone else here that has a Great fear of Snakes…

I can always have Ad Blocking on, but sometimes it needs to be off in order to view some sites... At the same time I'm browsing FT and the Snake just scared the Hell out of me one time...

But now I have come to terms with it... Just don't look that way ;)

Thank you, John! I thought I was the only one who choked when seeing that ad. It was actually a test of will to move in the right side of the window so I didn't have to see it.

It was the subject of some other FT threads.

Another thanks as that thing was bothering me too.
